Ironman Set for Saturday

Tie-ups expected on west side of Hudson

This Saturday, August 11, the Palisades Interstate Park will host the Ironman U.S. Championship. The scale of this event means that normal park operations and public access (including the Palisades Interstate Parkway) will be affected Monday, August 6 through Sunday, August 12. The largest closures and park areas affected are listed below. Click here for a full list of advisories

Englewood Boat Basin and Picnic Area: will be accessible to boat owners’ vehicles only on Saturday, August 11. 

Fort Lee Historic Park: closed on Saturday, August 11.

Hazard’s Dock Boat Ramp: closed Thursday, August 9 – Sunday, August 12.

Henry Hudson Drive: closed to all traffic (vehicle, bicycle, and pedestrian) on Saturday, August 11.

Palisades Interstate Parkway: Southbound lanes from Exit 18 to George Washington Bridge closed to all traffic on Saturday, August 11, 2:00 am – 8:00 pm.

Ross Dock Picnic Area: closed Thursday, August 9 – Sunday, August 12.

Trails: all trails south of the Englewood Cliffs Park Entrance/PIP Exit 1 closed on Saturday, August 11.
