John J. O’Connor

John J. O’Connor, known to his friends as “Jack”, age 82, a 16-year Garrison resident, died on Friday, January 6, 2012, at his residence with family at his side.

Born June 12, 1929, in Brooklyn, he was the son of the late Joseph and Mary (Morgan) O’Connor.

Mr. O’Connor was a celebrated NYPD Detective Sergeant, and a U.S. Army veteran. Upon retiring from the police department in 1970, Mr. O’Connor founded and built OCS Security, one of the largest private security companies in the eastern region.

Survivors include three sonsm Gregory M. O’Connor of New York City. Gavin J. O’Connor of Malibu, Calif., and Luke O’Connor of Garrison; and two daughters, Barbara Fiorino of New York City, and Morgan Lily O’Connor of Garrison. Two grandchildren also survive.

He is also survived by two sisters Mary O’Connor of Massapequa, NY and Irene Bejarano of Vermont.

Private cremation will take place at Ferncliff Crematory in Hartsdale.

A memorial service is being planned for Saturday, January 14th in Montauk, NY.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Clinton Funeral Home, Cold Spring, NY.
