LEGAL NOTICE
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a public hearing will be held before the County Executive of the County of Putnam at Room 300 of the County Office Building, 40 Gleneida Avenue, Carmel, New York 10512 on the 18th day of January, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. concerning:
 A LOCAL LAW
 To Amend Article 2, Section 2.02 of the Putnam County Charter Entitled “Term” adopted by the Putnam County Legislature on December 27, 2010, Resolution R#435.
This Local Law
Amends Article 2, Section 2.02 of the Putnam County Charter, entitled “Term”,  by placing term limits on the offices of Putnam County Legislators, insofar as it prohibits  Legislators from serving more than four (4) full consecutive terms for a maximum of six (6) terms in his or her lifetime, which restriction shall be applicable commencing with the November, 2011 election.
Copies of the Local Law are available at the Office of the Putnam County Legislature, Room 313, 40 Gleneida Avenue, Carmel, New York 10512.
At the aforesaid time and place all persons interested in the subject matter thereof will be heard concerning same.  Comments will also be accepted via regular mail submitted to the above referenced address and via facsimile to (845) 808-1901.
This Local Law shall take effect forty-five (45) days after its adoption, subject to referendum on petition in accordance with the provisions of Section 24 of the New York State Municipal Law.
