Budget Adopted, Taxes Going Up
The Philipstown Town Board adopted the town's budget for 2010 on November 19, and while spending was held to an increase of just slightly less than two per cent, taxes will go up. The tax increase is almost solely due to an anticipated decline in revenues of about 12 percent. As a result, the town-wide tax rate will increase 14.68 percent, from $1.
