James R. Sherman

James R. Sherman, beloved husband of Joan Flaherty, formerly of Cold Spring, devoted father of James and Christinne, died suddenly on January 16, 2004. He was born in Brooklyn on August 23, 1953. For the past two years, he and his family have resided in Eastchester, NY. James is survived by a brother John, a sister Marilyn, and seven nieces.

Jamie was in the construction business working in New York City. He was a member of the Carpenter’s Union. Jamie was an avid sports fan.

Joann and James were married on March 23, 1996 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Brooklyn.

Funeral services were under the direction of Cobble Hill Chapels, with a mass of Christian Burial said at St. Charles Borromeo Church, Brooklyn. Interment was at the Cold Spring Cemetery where graveside services were offered by Father McSweeney, Pastor of Our Lady of Loretto Parish.

The Flaherty Family is deeply saddened by the passing of Jamie.
