Haywood W. Fincham, Sr.

Haywood W. Fincham, Sr., a resident of Fishkill, and formerly of Cold Spring, entered into rest Wednesday, March 21, 2007, at Vassar Brothers Hospital, Poughkeepsie with his wife and children at his side. He was 82.

Born on August 17, 1924 in Somerset, VA, he was the son of Charlie and Minnie Ola Moubray Fincham. On July 17, 1952, he married Joan A. Corrigan at the First Presbyterian Church, Louisa VA. Joan survives at home.

He served in the US Army with the 124th Infantry during World War II and the Korean War.

Besides his wife, he is survived by eleven children: daughters, Karen and James Tangen, Betty and Harold Kane, Donna and Darrell Duheme, Kathy and Richard Keller, and Joanna Fincham; sons, Haywood Fincham, Jr., Randy and Cindy Fincham, Charles Fincham, Robert and Ellen Fincham, David and Patricia Fincham, and youngest son and caregiver, Paul M. Fincharm. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, Stephanie and Scan Lucy, Scott Tangen, Brian and Casey Kent, Joseph and Kaitlynn Fincham, Danyell and James Hotteran, and Ryan and Kristen Fincham and a great granddaughter, Victoria Hotteran; five step grandchildren, Cathy, Jessica, and Michael Edwards, Debbie Mostert, and Michael Duheme, one step great grandson, Shane Duheme, two sisters, Madie Smith and Shirley Rogers and her husband, Walter, one brother, David Fincham; and a sister-in-law, Ruby McClary Fincham. He was predeceased by his sisters, Elizabeth and her husband, George Smith. Betty and her husband, Chuck Branharn, and his brother, Robert Lee Fincham, his sister in-law, Laveda Mellon Fincham, two nieces, Janie Radcliff-Holley and Cindy Smith Lillard, and one nephew, Pete Radcliff, all from Virginia.

A memorial service will be held at 12 noon on Saturday, March 31, 2007, at the First Presbyterian Church of Philipstown, 10 Academy Street, Cold Spring, with Rev. Leslie Mott officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may he made to the Food Pantry at the First Presbyterian Church or to Hospice of Dutchess County, 374 Violet Avenue, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601.
