David A Boulanger

David A. Boulanger of Newburgh, a police lieutenant for the MTA and long time area resident,entered into rest on Sunday, September 7, 2003 at home. He was 53.

The son of the late Warren and Joanne Sheerin Boulanger, he was born on November 1, 1949 in Albany. David Boulanger grew up in Cold Spring where he lived until 1985 and served as a police officer in the village for 5 years.

He proudly served his country in the US Marine Corps, where he earned the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Campaign Medal, Purple Heart, Vietnam Service Medal with one star, Rifle Marksmanship Badge, Combat Action Ribbon and the Good Conduct Medal. He was active with VFW, Boy Scouts of America, Hudson Valley High Power Rifle League, National Rifle Association, NYS Rifle Pistol Association and Black Rock Fish and Game Club.

His survivors include his loving wife, Janice LaValle Boulanger at home; three children, Theresa, Martha and Nicholas Boulanger, all at home; one brother, Michael Boulanger of San Diego, CA; two sisters, Ellen Russell of Pine Bush, Susan Travis of Boston, MA; nieces and nephews.

Family will receive their friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm on Wednesday, September 10 at Brooks-DiDonato Funeral Home, 481 Gidney Avenue, Newburgh.

A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 am on Thursday, September 11 at St. John’s Church, 31 Willow Street, Beacon.

Cremation with military honors will be in Cedar Hill Crematory, Newburgh.
